Et in Arcadia ego canvas

This unique licensed design by Alchemy Gothic depicts 3 cloaked skeletal figures symbolising death carrying a beautiful woman drapped in red fabric in a glass coffin. She appears to have her hands in the prayer position. The name of the artwork is ‘Et In Arcadia Ego’ which translates to ‘And in Arcadia I am.’ Arcadia is seen to be Paradise and the phrase is interpreted as a warning that death is always present, even in paradise (arcadia).
